Ο González γεννήθηκε στην Αβάνα της Κούβας στις 16 Ιουλίου 1920. Ήταν φοιτητής στο Estudio Libre, ίδρυσε την Ένωση Χαρακτών της Κούβας (AGC) και εργάστηκε ως καθηγητής χαρακτικής στη σχολή Leopoldo Romañach στη Santa Clara. Με τον Πανίκο Παιονίδη γνωρίστηκαν το 1976 σε Συνέδριο Ειρήνης στη Βουλγαρία. Ο González χάρισε αρκετά έργα του στο ζεύγος Παιονίδη.
