Ο Γιάννης Μποσταντζόγλου γεννήθηκε το 1951 στην Αθήνα, όπου και σπούδασε θέατρο. Εργάζεται ως ηθοποιός στο θέατρο, τον κινηματογράφο και την τηλεόραση. Το βιβλίο Τα Σπίτια, η Ζωή μου είναι η πρώτη λογοτεχνική του απόπειρα. Είναι γιος του πολύ καλού φίλου του ζεύγους Παιονίδη Μποσταντζόγλου, Μέντης (Μποστ) (1918-1996).
