Ο Μίκης Θεοδωράκης και η Μελίνα Παιονίδου (κόρη του ζεύγους Παιονίδη) στη Ρόδο.
Στις 25 Ιουλίου 1995 ο Δήμος Ρόδου (με δήμαρχο τον Γιώργο Γιαννόπουλο) ανακήρυξε τον Μίκη θεοδωράκη επίτιμο δημότη και του απένειμε το χρυσό μετάλλιο της πόλης. Η τελετή έγινε στην αυλή του Μεγάρου των Ιπποτών και ακολούθησε μια μεγάλη συναυλία που διηύθυνε ο ίδιος ο συνθέτης και τραγούδησαν η Μαρία Φαραντούρη, ο Μανώλης Μητσιάς, ο Πέτρος Πανδής και ο Δώρος Δημοσθένους.
