Μετά την ολοκλήρωση των σπουδών του, ο Γιώργος Κοτσώνης επέστρεψε στην Κύπρο κι εγκαταστάθηκε στην Πάφο όπου κι εξακολουθεί να διαμένει και να εργάζεται. Παράλληλα προς την καλλιτεχνική του απασχόληση, δίδαξε τέχνη και σε σχολές της Πάφου.
