Το Εθνικό Κέντρο Βιβλίου (Ε.ΚΕ.ΒΙ.) δημιουργήθηκε το 1994 στην Αθήνα, με σκοπό να συμβάλλει στην ενίσχυση και την προώθηση του βιβλίου στην Ελλάδα. Υπάγεται, εποπτεύεται και επιχορηγείται από το Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού. Η εύρυθμη λειτουργία του Ε.ΚΕ.ΒΙ. οφείλεται στη συμβολή ανθρώπων, οι οποίοι απασχολούνται επαγγελματικά στο χώρο του βιβλίου και των εκδόσεων εντός της χώρας.
Το ΕΚΕΒΙ καταργήθηκε το 2014 και οι αρμοδιότητες του μεταφέρθηκαν, καθώς και τα περιουσιακά στοιχεία, στο Ελληνικό Ίδρυμα Πολιτισμού.
