Ο Ataol Behramoglu (1942-) είναι Τούρκος ποιητής, συγγραφέας και λογοτεχνικός μεταφραστής από ρωσικά σε τούρκικα. Είναι επίσης επικεφαλής των Ρωσσικών σπουδών στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Κωνσταντινούπολης. Με το ζεύγος Παιονίδη έχουν γνωριστεί στο Συνέδριο Λογοτεχνών της Βουλγαρίας. Αργότερα συναντήθηκαν στη Κύπρο, στο Παρίσι, στην Κωνσταντινούπολη και σε άλλες χώρες.
