Ο Χάρης Γιακουμής γεννήθηκε το 1959 στην Κύπρο. Είναι ιστορικός τέχνης και διδάκτορας αισθητικής και τεχνολογίας της εικόνας του Πανεπιστημίου του Παρισιού. Τον ενδιαφέρει ιδιαίτερα η παλαιά φωτογραφία, η φωτογραφία στον ελληνικό χώρο και η σχέση μεταξύ τέχνης και φωτογραφίας, θέματα για τα οποία έχει εκδώσει ήδη αρκετά βιβλία (ανάμεσά τους και τα βιβλία της σειράς “Τέχνη και φωτογραφία”, για τις εκδόσεις Ποταμός στην Αθήνα και Picard στο Παρίσι). Ζει και εργάζεται στο Παρίσι στις εκδόσεις Kallimages.
